About Kara Hancock...
Kara Hancock is a professional actress who splits her time between Jersey City and NYC. She graduated from the University of Dayton with a degree in Music Education, and since then, has performed with Weathervane Playhouse, Dare 2 Defy, SRO, Shadowbox Live, Imagine Productions, Renaissance Performing Arts, TheatreLab, and has workshopped a production in NYC - a musical based on Nikki Sixx's Heroin Diaries.
When she is not in a rehearsal, she can be found in a class learning more about her profession. Kara strongly believes that a performer is always a student, and because of this, she continues her voice studies with the Matt Farnsworth Vocal Studio and takes dance lessons at Broadway Dance Center. Whenever she has a night off, she does her best to attend shows to see others perform. Some of her favorite performances that she has seen recently have been Oh, Mary!, Tommy, and The Wiz. Her goal is to continue performing, and in the far future to work as an Artist in Residence where she will teach students proper belting technique while studying how Musical Theatre reflects society's ever changing ideas of "morality." |
